The Physical Sciences
Lectures

Here are the Lecture Units plus some other
"tools" or programs that you may find useful.

01 Science and Matter

02 Atoms and Energy

03 Chemistry and Life

04 The Sky

05 Earth

The programs below may be of use or interest to you. I may eventually have some of them available like my lectures on the Internet. While waiting, you can go to the SouthArk TLC Lab (Room 220) or The Student Computer Lab (Room 218) in the Computer Technology Building of the West Campus for programs 1) through 4) on-line.

For students who would like to work at home I am making these programs available for download. Programs 5) and 6) are not "my" programs and are available by download only. Please note that these programs must be run under the Windows operating system. Some of these files may take a while to download (5 to 10 minutes per 1000 KB, depending on your modem and Internet traffic.)

1) Flow Charts - download (520 KB)

2) PCUse - download (1440 KB)

3) Scott's Math (actually an MS-DOS program) - download (45 KB)

4) Find the Pairs (actually an MS-DOS program) - download (93 KB) Special Note: This file is NOT the Find the Pairs program. It is a special self-extracting ZIP file which contains the Find the Pairs program and the other files which go with it. I suggest that you download this file, find.exe, to it's own folder. Then double click on find.exe in the folder to allow it to extract all of its files. You can then double click on the program file (00find~1.exe) to run the program.

5) Adastra - Explore the night sky on your computer. Click here for more information.

6) SETI@Home - Help the University of California at Berkeley with their Search for ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence (SETI). Click here for more information.
