SETI@Home v2.04

You can help the University of California at Berkeley to Search for ExtraTerrestrial
Intelligence (SETI).

The program consists of two parts -- the application and a screen saver. The
application will download blocks of data, via your Internet link, from radio telescopes that "listen" to distant stars. It then processes that data, looking for patterns that might suggest the existence of extraterrestrial intelligence. It then returns the results to UC Berkeley and downloads more data to processes. The screen saver works during periods when your computer is inactive and shows you how the process is going. Normally the processing only occurs when the screen saver is active, but you can choose to have it going on in the background all of the time.

The program is free.

The file that you download is a self-extracting EXE file. Just run the program and it
unpacks itself -- it doesn't need another program to "unzip" it.
The actual time required for you to download it will depend on your modem and Internet traffic at the time. To download setihome.exe, click here.
